Swiss WorldCargo, the air freight arm of Swiss Airlines has always been a company which has strived to keep up with the ever changing air freight industry and one which is no stranger to
innovations.
The company has announced a new organisational structure which is aimed at advancing its brand presence to better meet and combat the challenges in the global air freight
industry.

New structure in place since the beginning of this year
The challenge as seen by the Swiss WorldCargo managers lies mainly in being in a position to offer their clients completely new business solutions and opportunities within today’s logistic
challenges as well as beefing up the Swiss carrier’s position as a leading service and quality leader in the industry.
In this respect, the management under the leadership of Ashwin Bhat have come up with a new structure based on three separate pillars.
- Business Development & Customer Experience
- Area & Contribution Management
- Quality & Services
The above three segments have their own individual leaders who report back to Mr Bhat.
Andres L. Perez heads up the Cargo Business Development & Customer Experience group whose main aim is to come up with a strategy within Swiss WorldCargo on how best to understand and tackle
market demands in order to enhance and improve products and services for the clients. This should enable the carrier to take a step closer to its customer needs.
Alexander Arafat took on a new role as Head of Cargo Area & Contribution Management already in 2016. He is responsible for the carrier’s regional cargo organization and contribution
management.
His department is responsible for the improvement of decision making and cooperation between the outstations and the head office in Zurich. This in order to ensure customers get quick responses
to their needs.
The Cargo Quality & Services department is headed by Christian Wyss whose task it is to make sure that the transport chain runs without problems as well as ensuring operational excellence at
Swiss WorldCargo coupled with a better process efficiency alongside the industry regulatory compliances.
Ashwin Bhat, Head of Cargo, Swiss International Airlines stated that: “the new organisational structure at Swiss WorldCargo is designed to make it more agile and to put our customers in the
centre of all our activities.“
