Ten years after it first began working with Jettainer, Etihad Cargo has now chosen to also benefit from the ULD management company’s new cool&fly service. Jettainer has thus been managing the airline’s cool containers since 01MAY21.

Over the years, the partnership has been expanded from managing standard containers and pallets through to specialized containers such as horse stalls, for the many prestigious horse transports that the airlines carries out with its SkyStables product. Like live animals, pharmaceutical transports require precision monitoring and qualified care. Jettainer’s Temperature Control Competence Center located at Eithad’s Abu Dhabi headquarters carries out all required processes from the ordering of cool ULDs through to their global management and on-time delivery. Additionally, Jettainer ensures continuous monitoring and after-service management along the entire process, interfacing between forwarders, shippers, airlines, and container owners from a single touchpoint, and thus significantly minimizing any risk of errors or delay. Its inhouse steering intelligence leads to continuous process optimization and ultimately in improved container available, usage, and cost savings for Etihad Cargo.

Long term partnership deepened again
Andre Blech, Director of Operations and Delivery at Etihad Cargo, emphasized: “Jettainer has been an exceptionally reliable ULD management partner for Etihad Cargo for many years now. The expansion of the partnership delivers additional efficiency gains and cool&fly provides greater efficiency for the transportation of temperature-sensitive cargo which is especially paramount during the pandemic and in the long term. This plays a key role in the expansion plan of the PharmaLife and FreshForward product offering, ensuring customer satisfaction every step of the way.

Thorsten Riekert, Jettainer’s Chief Sales Officer, added: “The trust that our long-term partner has placed in us attests to our work and motivates us to continue offering outstanding services in the future too.
With the efficient steering by our experienced team of experts in Abu Dhabi and by providing transparency across the entire supply chain, we fully support Etihad’s growing cool-chain business and are able to offer significant additional value for our partner Etihad Cargo,” Mr. Riekert stated.
Etihad Airways and Jettainer have been working closely together for 10 years. On March 1, 2011, the Lufthansa Cargo subsidiary took over the management and maintenance of the entire loading equipment utilized by the cargo arm of the Arabian airline.
